Arizona's LightsOverLA transcends numerous styles and genres with his remixes. Starting his musical career in a trash metal band, Stormy Logan, later made the transition to electronic music and remixes after touring and managing what he calls "stupid scene" bands. He plans on releasing an EP of originals in the next coming months so watch out for that.
I'm a big fan of all his remixes. I appreciate how he can go from dubstep to airy dance to heavy electro. I think these 3 songs show good examples of his diversity:
Kieren Dickins, also known as DELS, just released a video for his newest single Trumpalump. A collaboration with Hot Chip's Joe Goddard, the song kind of reminds me of what it would sound like if Kano rapped over Golddigger.
RAC, short for Remix Artist Collective, constantly pump out amazing re-edits, re-works and remixes of hype songs. Here's the founders bio:
Andre Allen Anjos is a 25 year old music artist with multiple years experience of remixing, producing and song-writing. Originally from Porto, Portugal now residing in Portland, OR. He is the founder and coordinator of Remix Artist Collective. Apart from remixing, Andre has worked in TV (Entourage/90210/How To Make It In America), film (Holy Rollers, starring Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Bartha) and advertising (Verizon, NBA, Coca-Cola, JCPenney, etc.)
These guys are huge. Theyll take anyone's song and remix it for them. It's just genius. This is from their site:
We provide re-interpretations/remixes of individual songs for artists/labels. Above all, we strive for excellence and good taste regardless of genre. We aim to maintain a style of remixing that strays from the “club mix” archetype, creating new incarnations of songs that stem from the original structure, but expand on their genre and musical arrangement. RAC mixes typically feature a unique blend of hip-hop and electro drum samples, analog synthesizers, melodic hooks, and original performed instrumentation. Listen to our portfolio, get an idea of what we do, and shoot some ideas through us. We’ll make it work.
Timeframe: Depending on how busy we are, we will often complete a remix in 3-7 days.
Tracks: A mailed DVD, CD, or online server must provide the original multi-track files. We currently work in Logic and Ableton Live. If the sessions are not in any of those formats, we ask for all tracks consolidated from the beginning of the track to the very end in 48Khz/24 bit, .wav or .aiff files. Please do not send us a mastered .wav file. There is nothing we can do with that.
Here is the complete list of their remixes. You can also download most of them. Score!
